The spectacular Cachoeira da Fuma\u00e7a is one of the most breathtaking scenes in Chapada Diamantina. With a waterfall of about 340 meters, surrounded by towering rock walls, this magical location in the heart of Vale do Cap\u00e3o is an unforgettable experience. Reaching the top of this waterfall, one of the largest in Brazil, is thrilling and rewarding.<\/p>

Visiting Cachoeira da Fuma\u00e7a can be done from above or below. The most common option is the trail to view it from above. However, don’t be fooled into thinking it’s an easy walk. With 12 km round trip, this trail is challenging, especially the initial 2 km ascent, which requires stamina and physical fitness. But the panoramic view at the end and the feeling of accomplishment are worth it.<\/p>

The goal of the trail is to reach the viewpoints that offer views of the imposing waterfall. Due to the force of the fall, the water appears to turn into smoke, justifying the name “Fuma\u00e7a,” which means smoke. On sunny days, you may even see rainbows over the waterfall.<\/p>

Remember that the trail to see Cachoeira da Fuma\u00e7a from above does not include swimming at the waterfall itself. It is common to make a stop for a refreshing dip at Riachinho, a waterfall near the trailhead.<\/p>
